Default Clutch cable seems "stretched out" after Clutch adjustment.

Hello,

I have been lurking on this forum for sometime now and have learned at a lot and now I need your help. I have messed something up during a Clutch adjustment. Since I was changing my primary oil it seemed like a good time to do a proper clutch adjustment. I followed the directions in my service manual and all seemed well. Except and I don't know if this matters, but when I turned the lock nut on the clutch adjuster screw the whole clutch assembly would turn with it. Also when went to adjust the free play in the cable I had to back the cable adjuster farther, almost its full travel. Did a short test drive it all function fine except the lever could only be pulled back about 3/4 of the way instead of all the to the grip.

Today I figured I would try again and see if I could it perfect. Each time I pulled the lever I seemed introduce more slack. Now I am at the point where I think I messed something up. The cable when it has the adjuster nut back all the way to point its actully off it still has a ton of free play the the lever wont even pull the clutch. When it could engaged I was dumb and squeezed the lever kinda hard to get it to touch the grip. Thats when I think truly broke it.

So what did I break? I hope this is a simple fix.

Please let me know what other information you need from me.

Not likely he is going to tell us, since he has not been on the forum in 9 years....

Funny guy. Nobody replied back then either... again I assumed someone might have known the answer but this was just lost in the mix. I still get random responses from forums years ago.
