Default hydraulic clutch

I am putting 16 inch apes on a 2003C CVO Road King,
some say that I will have problems with the hydraulic clutch, maybe the reservoir is too far from the clutch, dealer claims that I may need to go to an acuator or mechanical cable. This does not seem right if the line is made longer and proper bleeding have been done. Has anyone had any problem with a mod like this or advice?

I installed a A.R.T hydro clutch unit on my 4 speed Shovelhead. I have 16" apes also. The hydraulic line I bought was about 40". The hydro clutch works great. even with the lengthy line.

However, I can't speak for stock HD set-ups but theoretically if the line reaches the master cylinder it should work.

Your brakes are also hydraulic and I have never heard of anyone having brake problems with apes! You will need a longer pipe for both brakes and clutch.

Fluid doesn't care how long the line is, it only care if its enemy the dreaded air bubble is allowed in.

What we have found is that the bigger the bore of the master cylinder the better. We recommend an 11/16 bore with our hydraulic units.
