I believe you are correct; however, if there is nothing wrong with the pulley, I would not replace it. IIRC, HD also recommends running Syn3 to lubricate the motor, primary and trans; I don't follow that recommendation either.

Default pictures

Well got the rear end separated and got the new belt on and got it back together. Ready to go back under the bike and be reinstalled. In the picture of the rear housing the 2 bolt holes without bolts are the holes used to seperate the two halves using one of the bolts. So far its a lot of work but I have to admit I kind of enjoy it. And I'm learning a lot about how my bike works.
