LOVE it.
It has been on a few trips and used MANY times. no issues.
Two people could easily sleep in it with all gear stored inside. 3 would work with most of the gear left on the bikes or under the rain fly.

I have both hammocks and tents for our trips. For 2 up, definitely use a tent. They make 2 person hammocks but it's not very comfortable especially after iron butting all day. I will say REI tents are fine, I use a Nemo Morpho 2P tent. It's air columns and packs down real small and sets up easily in the rain.
I will say if you tent it, get yourselves a good sleeping pad. Will make a huge difference when you get back on the bike the next day. Good luck and enjoy your journeys.

REI Half Dome, years old and still looks and functions perfectly. Fits in my side saddle bag on top of my sleeping bag, pad and gear. Great packed size for a Touring bike. I clean and water proof each year with WIX. Picked it up on Craigslist for $70 BTW. Heading to Kalispell MT from CO in two weeks so I'll put it through it's paces again.

Hopefully you got the Half Dome Plus while it was on sale. You asked your question just at the right time. From what I've read, you can't beat the value of that tent. I bought one myself -- should be delivered Friday. I might have to wander off someplace this weekend to give it (and the new sleeping bag I also couldn't resist while it was 20% off) a try.
