Exclamation Pacific Coast Highway closed

Big slide wiped out a 1/4 mile plus section of the PCH in the Big Sur area and is closed indefinitely at this time , make plans accordingly if you where heading that way in the next months.

It was already closed before this recent slide because the Pfeiffer bridge at Big Sur was washed away in the storm... going to take awhile to fix one resort is offering heli flights in from the Monterey airport $450 to $4500

Kinda ironic that PCH is closed after Bronson passing (Michael Parks).

WOW!!! Those pictures are crazy, amazing no one was hurt but it seems they were doing so much work there already there was no traffic. Rode that in 2015, looks like no one will be riding it anytime soon. Thanks for posting.

If some California residents had their way,the entire highway would be shut down to vehicles forever...

I rode the PCH from Carmel down to about Gordo several years ago. Spectacular road and unbelievable views. I saw that the Pfeiffer Canyon bridge failed, then the slide near Lucia and now this one further south. So sad! Selfishly, I'm glad that I did it when I did.

Word is they are going to build a road over the slide! Cant wait as my favorite campgrounds are stuck in the middle of the 2 closures.
