Default Adventures with the “Scorpios”

June 28, 2019.

We have been having some great riding weather the last week.
So, last evening we got together with some of our riding friends and headed to one our favourite restaurants 3D’s Pizzeria in Florence, Ontario.
About 30 some miles from home and then a fantastic ride along the St. Clair River road after a delicious meal.
Enjoy!
More adventures to come.

Cheers, Terry

Meet up at Timmies. No Heavy outerwear required today!

Arrival at 3D’s.

The ladies having a seat outside on the patio waiting for our table to be ready.

Parking was at a premium when we arrived. Busy and popular restaurant with great pizza!

Getting geared up ready for the ride home.

Default Adventures with the “Scorpios”

July 1, 2019.

Another fantastic ride yesterday.
A short 4 hr ride south down the river road and back along the St. Clair river.
We ended up in a small community called Wallaceburg, Ontario and stopped in at the “Big Chief Drive In” for a burger and a beer.
After eating we made the ride back home the same way so we could get back to the house and prepare for Mondays Canada Day festivities.

Happy Canada Day!

Cheers, Terry

July 5, 2019.

As we deal with a heat wave to last couple of days I just couldn’t help sharing a photo of our temperature gauge outside the man cave.
As we sit here in the air conditioning, our friends from “The Wanderers” are on the road to a benefit ride for kids cancer in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
We wish them all a safe and uneventful ride and weekend!

Cheers, Terry

Taken at 2:45 pm. EST.

Yes folks, it’s 37 Celsius, or for our American friends that’s 98 Fahrenheit! And along with the temp its very humid too!

Default Adventures with the. “Scorpios”

July 14, 2019.

Yesterday, July 13th, was the annual trip to Lucan, Ontario and “Baconfest”
This event has grown leaps and bounds over the last couple of years and it was perfect day for riding.
Spent a couple of hours there, checked out the food booths and stopped at one of our favourite gathering places at the Legion beer tent.
Met up with quite a few friends from Sarnia there and then in the afternoon left and went to Ilderton, Ontario to the “King Edward” for a bite to eat.
Although a very toasty ride home (90 plus degrees) it was a great day!
Enjoy the pics!

Cheers, Terry

Arrival in Lucan, Ontario

Default Adventures with the “Scorpios”

July 29, 2019.

Yesterday we planned a day trip with our riding group “The Wanderers”. Destination was Port Stanley, Ontario, a small beach community of the shore of Lake Erie.
Approximately an 75 mile trip through the backroads. Weather was very hot and humid, and with that brings the occasional rain burst. We almost dodged them but got caught in one of the way back home.
A fifteen minute downpour as we pulled off to the side of the road, and then we were on our way home. The temperature was so warm that within a short time our clothes dried on the ride home.
Enjoy the photos!
A long weekend coming here this weekend in Ontario. We are off to out annual “Hog for Hospice” trip to Leamington, Ontario.
Stay tuned more to come!

Cheers, Terry

Meet up with part of the group to begin the ride.

Waiting for two more bikes to join us and we will be on our way!

Arrival at “GT’s on the Beach” in Port Stanley, Ontario.

Motorcycle parking area at GT’s.

Entrance to the restaurant. To the left of here and out in front is a beautiful beach right on Lake Erie.

“The Wanderers” riding club enjoying a bite to eat and a beverage at GT’s. Excellent perch dinner served here!

A wet riding group hiding under a tree waiting for the downpour to pass. After 15 mins we were on our way again!

Dry the bikes off and away we go headed for home.

Default Adventures with the “Scorpios”

August 5, 2019.

Just returned yesterday from our annual trip to Leamington, Ontario and the “Hogs for Hospice” rally.
No count yet on the amount of bikes that participated but looked larger than last year (2000+ bikes)

This year there was a different route selected. We still did the tour of Point Pelee National Park and then onto Wheatley, Ontario for the stop at the half way point of the ride.
They shut down the main intersection there and all bikes were parked and the party was on! After a hour and half stop there for food and refreshments the organizers summoned everyone back to their bikes. Then they ask everyone to start their bikes all at the same time, and of course, rev them all up. Honestly the noise was deafening but oh so cool!

We could not have asked for better weather for riding. The weekend was perfect!

If you would like to go to their website and watch a video of the ride and other info, go to Hogsforhospice.com

Enjoy the photos from the weekend!

Cheers, Terry

Bikes all ready at our place for the ride.

Mark, a fellow member of our group “The Wanderers” and his new ride. A new Road Glide! What a sweet machine.

Arrival in Chatham, Ontario at Frendz restaurant for lunch.

Lunch over and getting ready to head to Leamington for the rally.

Arrival at the “Seacliff Inn” our hotel for a 2 night stay.

Bikes parked for the evening.

Seacliff Inn.

Mark and his buddy in the hotel lobby!

“The Wanderers” are here!
