Good read!! Glad you had a good trip with few, if any, issues/problems. We just got back from our annual, which I'll post up a bit later. Need to let my back relax and rest a bit. Nothing as exciting as yours, but we got a decent ride in!
Thanks for the reports!

Good read and I'm (we all) are glad that you made it home safe and sound..

Any info that you'd be willing to share would be interesting to those of us that have not been able to get out for a while.

So the question now is; what's in the works for next year!

Congrats on achieving your goal!

I'm a member of both Hells Canyon HOG and Lone Wolf HOG.

I'm going to go back through all your posts and try to list your highways. I'm going to try to match your route. Do you have a typed itinerary? Would you be willing to post it? Are there any roads that you would now not recommend?

I know, a lot of questions, but I'm really excited! Thanks again for doing this thread!

Guys, try this link. https://rideplanner.harley-davidson....2&locale=en_US

Once you open the link, click on view/edit ride plan and you can zoom in and see every road. You can also see detail turn by turn instructions. I planned it with hotel stays so each ending day is at a hotel.

If that doesn't work, I'll recreate the ride in google maps. Keep in mind that this ride plan includes a day before starting the 48 and a day after. Day before to visit friends in Brewster, WA so my 48 trip stated in Spokane, WA and ended in Klamath Falls, OR. The last day was getting home and visiting a 93 year old uncle in Eugene, OR on the way.

More on the trip later.

For years (actually decades) I've planned many trips and booked motels with only a Road Atlas and a telephone but I've never done one as grueling and demanding as yours.
To me the overall mileage isn't as much of an issue as the number of days and mandated daily mileage. Trying to do this with another person (especially riding their own bike) could be very stressful and another bike increases the chances of mechanical problems as well as the chances of having an accident.

Considering the mileage, the weather, and your itinerary, you did very well.

I'm tired from just reading your posts!

Hey FXDXTSport.

You sound like Hoka Hey material.

After you you have a chance to wind down, give it a look at

www.hokaheychallenge.com

you can also read my account of the first year I rode it at

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/off-topic/837516-i-ve-decided-i-m-not-going-to-publish.html

If you read my account you can ignore the first few chapters as they pertain to my youth and what brought me undertake the Challenge.

I am tentatively planning on doing it next year but nothing firm yet. If you think it is something you might want to try, contact me and I will be more than happy to give you any advice I can regarding prep and tactics that I have learned.

Congrats on this current ride. You should be proud.

Your an inspiration. I am dreaming of doing a cross country trip but I never have the time or the money. Around how much did you spend in total?

In 2000, two buddies and I did 45 states in 17 days, 7700 miles. We even took 2 days off to visit my brother in Pasco, WA. Three of those days were 850+. Way to go!
