Heading to Scottsdale next week for some spring training baseball. We're going to take a couple of days to get there from the Bay Area. First night's stop is in Barstow, CA. For the second day, the route as of now is I40 to 95 to I10. Any other route ideas for the second day?

From Flagstaff to Phoenix be sure and go through Oak Creek Canyon 89A and Sedona. Sedona to Cottonwood and up to Jerome. Back down to Cottonwood and over to Camp Verde.
Or continue to Precott Valley then over to I-17.
Then south to Scottsdale

 

Maybe you can work "89A" into your travels...

 

I'd avoid Flagstaff and take the southern route I-40 > US-93 this time of year. It just snowed in Flagstaff yesterday.
