MA to Sturgis - NY or PA ?
Heading to Sturgis for the first time from Central MA.
I planned on taking 90 to Buffalo for the first leg, but also looking at taking 80 to Clearfield, PA.
Mileage is about the same, but the hotels are much cheaper in PA.
Anyone have any pros/cons of 80/PA or 90/NY ?
My next stop will be Chicago. Yeah, I know, stay away from Chicago, but I have family there that I can crash for a night for free.

I have done both, I-80 coming from Long Island and once I-90 coming from NH. 90 is just a nicer road, not WOW nicer, but if I had your choice I would take 90. 80 in PA is harsh for sure.
My plans got all screwy, but I had originally planned to stop for the night in Rochester and have dinner at Dinosaur BBQ. A nice meal there is justification enough for 90, IMHO.
Good luck, honestly everything from the Northeast until the other side of Chicago is unpleasant. And bring rain gear, never have we gotten thru the Ohio Valley without heavy rain to biblical rain. They get a lot of rain that time of year, you will find it one way or the other.

You are welcome:

The one in Troy is right on the river with a ton of outdoor space, also a real good spot.

If you have a '14+ Ultra with a tour pack on, you "don't pay no stinking tolls".... the cameras can't see your plate......... ;-)
I'd pick 90 over 80 any day, but the nicest way I've found is up over the lakes through Canada and cross back over in Sault St Marie..... enjoy the ride!

Sorry not a fan of dinosaur BBQ....maybe it was because we got there late at night and the best was already eaten, but crappy meats.....
Central Mass to Albany to Binghamton to Elmira to Erie....then jump on I 90 west.......much better route to Chicago......best route out of all of them and most scenic....
