Default WI to Nashville, Aug 18'

Small group of 3 bikes head'n down for 4 nights in Nashville, 1 overnight on way down, 1-2 overnights on way back....
Will get into the downtown bar scene area for a night or two, may run part of the Trace, have heard of the Loveless Cafe also. Too many threads to search with this slow *** pc so hoping for help in this 1 thread!

All ideas & thoughts on places to see & visit are appreciated. Also wanting a route around Chicago as we are slightly N of Milwaukee.

Thanks in Advance!!

As I said, just N of Milwaukee with is due N of Chicago.... 94S/E would run us right thru downtown Chi-town & 294S goes thru & around but still a lot of traffic & toll stops so looking for something else... Possibly thinking of running 47 S or 45 S which will take longer for sure?

Take 43 over from Milwaukee to 39 and 51 south then pick the way you wish to go the rest of the trip, not a bad ride and avoids all the traffic. With out adding much time.

That’s a good idea. It would be more miles, but a lot less congestion. And traffic would be much saner. Without the congestion, time would probably be about the same.

0830 traffic.

You could take take the ferry from Milwaukee to Muskegon, MI then head south. That would avoid a lot of Chicago. It’s pretty cool. Me and my dad did it a few weeks ago.

There is a really cool burger joint in Nashville called the pharmacy. http://thepharmacynashville.com/ they have good food and a neat atmosphere. The bar strip will provide plenty for an evening of things to do but if you want a little more class head over to the Gulch which is only a couple blocks from Broadway, there you will find some nice dining and local type bars. One that sticks out with the best views is called The Diner, it is 5-7 floors of open air style dining/drinking, top floor has a different menu with raw bar, each floor has a different vibe. The food is great, view is great and the price wasn't to high.
I am in Nashville at least every other week so if you have any questions let me know.

Went that way two weeks ago, left Michigan on the 11th stayed three days/two nights in Nashville. We really enjoyed the older Honkytonks, Tootsie’s, Layla’s and Robert’s Western World. If you like BBQ try Martin’s, but there are a few others. On our way out stopped at Loveless Cafe, to be honest we thought it to be more of a tourist trap than a place with great food. Road the Trace to Tupelo and was warned on this Forum prior not to speed...unfortunately the road conditions beg you to ramp it up from the posted 50mph. Next thing I knew was a Park Ranger following very close behind me until he was satisfied that I understood the meaning of 50mph and passed with no more than a finger wave warning. Not sure we’re you are staying, but highly recommend the Candlewood Suites, not near Broadway, but a short Uber ride away.
