Question Looking to tag along to Sturgis from Upstate NY

Anyone in the northeast heading to Sturgis? Looking to tag along with someone riding there hopefully tenting. I am fairly new to long road trips only done trips if around 1200 miles each way. I am in mid 40s so not a kid and do have around 1**,*** miles done. So I figured if I can find someone heading that way and knows the road It would be great(wife doesn't want me to go alone). I will camp or motel on the way does not matter, but would rather camp just for the fun. I can go 200-250 miles before I need to stop for fuel. I will be riding a 17 road glide.
I can meet in any of the surrounding states.

Thanks
Orlando

It is a piece of cake trip.
Go up through Canada via Ste Saint Marie.
Dont go near Chicago/ Detroit area
Shoot for at least 300 miles a day.
Start early, quite early .

Thanks I will probably still do the ride alone if I cant tag along with anyone. I just have that itch that I need to go there and I need my yearly clear your head ride. I did make a rough route that goes through Canada. I just need to get the extended license or a passport. https://maps.harley-davidson.com/map/rides/cYQad_nQx
I just have to find tune it and mark state camp sites. Camping along the way is the new part for me. But its in my bucket list so have to get it done. When I did my last ride to NC from Saratoga, NY I did about 600 miles a day on the way down and to PA 81x88 connection on first day up. Would have done it all in 1 day but I had a late start and hit a hail storm in VA that broke my headlight and hurt like hell. I probably should have stopped for that one. Lesson learned. So I should be able to keep up the miles at least for the first 5 days. Havent tested myself beyond 5 days. But I was in pretty good shape when I got home. Just sun burnt because I did not wear any sun block. another lesson learned. Also this would make the first year of doing a road trip on the road glide. Before I was using a fatboy lo that i made high with progressive shocks.

Thanks

Have you looked at your local HOG chapter to see if anyone is going? You can post here too .... to see if any local folks are going..... https://www.hdforums.com/forum/north...tate-area-130/

No I have not, but will check this weekend to see. This is more of a last minute thing for me since I had someone that was going to do the ride with me. But he ended up deciding that he can't make the trip this year.
I will go post in the northeast forum and hopefully I get some bites.

Thanks

This is my personal time trip so no 2-up on this one. Plus she cannot handle a multi-day ride.

"Cruz" ... If you're headed out through the Upper Peninsula and are looking for a place to stay I highly recommend the Clarke Motel at M-28 just east of M-123 in Strongs MI ... Andy and Patty are very good friends of mine and cater to bikers ... Their rooms are clean and inexpensive however you can stay/camp in a rustic cabin, a very small clean trailer of a their version of the S.S. Minnow for a small sum ... I guarantee you will be impressed with the "ambience" and will talk about the place for years to come. Here's an example ... Yes the fire tower in the background is from the US Forestry Dept in the UP. Andy is a very creative guy.
