Default New Mexico / Arizona / Utah / Colorado

Well we have the 2019 motorcycle road trip down on paper!

New Mexico / Arizona / Utah / Colorado.... It should be a good trip, but timing is going to be the trick on this one. It needed to be late enough to allow us to hit the passes in Colorado and still not kill us with the heat going thought the desert... It is going to be HOT, we just couldn’t get around that, but we aren’t camping at under 7500 feet so the evenings should be pleasant even on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Take a look at hiway 141 in CO, I would recommend that over going through Moab.

If you haven’t been through Monument Valley Navajo Lands. I highly recommend this route from Mancos CO to Mexican Water AZ to Mexica Hat AZ to Monument Valley UT to Kayenta AZ on your way to North Rim

This is how I would go from Moab to Aspen:
  1. Moab to Gateway CO.
  2. Hwy 141 north Gateway to Hwy 50 south of Grand Junction.
  3. Hwy 50 south to Delta CO.
  4. Delta Hwy 92 east to Hotchkiss CO.
  5. Hotchkiss east Hwy 133 over Mc Clure Pass going through Paonia and Redstone to Carbondale CO.
  6. Catbondale Hwy 82 south to Aspen.

Looks like you'll be going E through Eagle Nest. I really like going W to Eagle Nest, watching that view open up, and the reservoir appear.
