ended up getting a 8.5 inch queen from Walmart here at home. Probably should have had it sent there but I'll make it work. Id like to use it for other trips anyway. Takes up about half a saddle bag. I'll order a cheap pillow and maybe a comforter too depending what the forecast looks like. What's easiest to get to from BC? Rapid city or spear fish?

Use a full size air mattress with a 12v pump, covers most the floor space in the tent. First nice rain & hail storm Sturgis is famous for you won't regret it. I roll it and the sleeping bags into one bag that gets strapped on the luggage rack, forget trying to cram it all in saddlebags.

One thing to remember about an air mattress is that the air in the mattress will be the same temperature as the air outside. On a hot night...that can be a good thing. OTOH: if it's cool to downright cold outside...you'll want some kind of blanket, quilt, or other layer underneath you to insulate you from the cold air in the mattress.

Thanks. I didn't really think about that. Im bringing a sleeping bag too so that should do it
