Default Route Planning

Hi all. Lots of questions lately. I'm a former Basecamp user. The last time I planned a route I used Myroute. I felt like it did everything I needed, transferred well and came across my boom
ok. I'd like to know what everyone's using. I remember several years ago not thinking too much of the Harley planner. Thx!

I still use a paper map to set up and get my major routes going. Just something about having that paper in front of you, spread out and looking, dreaming, and thinking.
However I would still like to use planners like the HD ride planner, etc. Seems they all have a glich or two in them.... I will also start clipping simple turn to turn directions on my windshield bag, rather than keep a gps up front. I keep reading these posts to see if someone comes up with a better planner....Good Luck!!!

Wow, Spartanen. You're taking me back to my '93 VFR days. Either tape the route to the tank or a pouch in a tank bag. Yeah, I'll have two computers going and a paper map for overviews. Its become an undertaking but when I'm leading 4-6 other bikes it's a beautiful thing to bring up the days route, click it and go. When I first went zumo on my Road Kings I used Mapsource then convoluted Basecamp software. Now I'm on a SGS with Boom. Myroute has been decent. Just that I want to stay hitched to the most robust and user friendly software

Yeah Juan. I pushed through the learning curve but then left it. Myroute is much more intuitive, user friendly, has HD specific files, sharing, etc. Also good tutorials. I think it's $80 per year.

I get it some need a plain, some like me don't . When I go on long rides (about 3 a year over 2000 miles) don't think I ever made my dentation. I go and ride until its time for a room and a cold one, wake up check the weather and fallow the sun. Hell one year started out going up to New England area and ended up in Tenn. Anyway you do it enjoy your ride.

We’re touring this year from DFW to CA and back. Some things to see along the way are Yellowstone, redwoods, Sierras, Death Valley, Vegas, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley etc etc. We’re not tied to a real schedule except for a meetup but we want to make progress every day. I just went through the H-D Rideplanner and it seems easy to use, has decent features and appears to be easy to change.
