Long Way to Vegas
Rain in the forecast for Tue/Wed led me to leave for a San Diego > Las Vegas trip a couple days early. I was supposed to leave Wednesday and follow my wife & kids in the car. We're going to see Taylor Swift on Friday. (yeah yeah) I didn't want to wait it out until Thursday and I really need the change of scenery. So, I looked where the storm wasn't going to be and rode to Yuma, AZ today. 181 miles and several gas stops on my sporty. Hoping to make my way up the Colorado River, check out Route 66, the dam and then on to Vegas.

Rode from Yuma to Parker today. (about 118 miles) Stopped at the H-D dealership in Yuma and then drove straight up 95 through the Yuma Proving Grounds. Fun ride and I managed to avoid the rain minus the last 12 miles. I've got Kingman by way of Oatman and then on to Vegas over the dam on my agenda for tomorrow. Had to navigate a family of pigs on the way through CA yesterday. I'll keep an eye out for the donkeys.

Made the ride from Las Vegas to San Diego (home) yesterday. Pretty damn cold going over the mountains but awesome ride overall. I took my time, which was obvious when my family caught up to me after having left like an hour after me. I was way in my head and didn't realize they had followed me off the highway when I stopped to get gas. 850 miles and I saw some crazy stuff but my family scares the **** out me:
Amazing trip overall and I'm still processing the experience. That will be easier when my hands return to their normal shape and not the gnarled, sportster-grip-shaped monsters they've become.

2013 Seventy-Two 1200v. I love it!
I bought a 72 when I was 71. Thus my User Name 71on72.
Loved it but it wanted to stop for gas every 72 miles. Maybe that’s why HD named it.
