My riding buddy left MS headed nortth and we hit the Natchez Trace in Tupelo and rode it all the way to the end. The next morning we had breakfast at Loveless Cafe and headed north again. We rode along Lake Michigan, The Tunnel of Trees, Mackinaw Bridge, rode along Lake Superior,, visited the Harley Museum, hit The Great River Road and headed back south.
We had a great time and saw a lot of beautiful country. We rode through 12 states and logged about 3300 miles. I had never been in that part of the country before.
That's good stuff! Did you ever get on the grate on the Mackinaw Bridge? It won't bother a big bike much but, smaller ones move all over. Some can't ride it because they see the water. You made the rounds that's for sure. Congrats on the ride and the ride report.
I did ride on the grating for a while and looked down to see the water.
I hate that feeling. Some of the southern states have small grating at the very top or in the center. I know to not fight the bridge...just go with the flow and guide the bike.
That bridge takes it to the extreme!
But I have not seen that part of the country and would like to do it.....right now would be a good time! We are in the last few days of a heat wave in SE Texas. Going to be the feels like temp of 111 degrees.
I have to go out very early in the morning and wrap it up around noon. But the heat ridge is easing up!

I've been over the bridge may times ... Once there was a bit of jammed up traffic and had to stop on the grating ... Looking down we saw a freighter passing underneath ... You just can't imagine how much that bridge sways until you have something to reference it to ";>)
