when you get into Fla. after you go thru Lake City look for the town of Alachua, turn right on main street and look for the Conastoga resturant- Good Eating! Then south of Gainesville, Visit Micanopy. It's worth seeing, Very old town with lots of shops. Ocala has motels and a Harley dealer right on 441. South of Ocala look for Webster It's got a Big flea market. Just some ideas. Have fun.

Checked it out and looks like a plan, thanks. Figured cutting over to 27 just south of Ft Lauderdale on 595 west? Looks like the closest cut over.

to badinfluence63:
reconsider use of 595...if it is rush hour the traffic will be very aggressive..consider western crossover further north...non-rush hour is bearable.
also note that US27 from lake south/down to (997) is lonely and there is a stretch of about 35 miles with nothing but cane fields..good road..remember to get gas.
from lake okeechobee :US27 to (997) or route (#29) to tamiami trail and then (997) are probably the best ways to avoid traffic...(997) will spit you out at the very end..that end will be the beginning of keys.(get gas) then catch card sound road to the rest off the keys.
