I am heading down to the Deals Gap area in a couple weeks with a group of 8 bikes. Just looking for a route home (SE Michigan) from Brevard, NC and noticed that SR197 kind of tracks I-26 but looks lots more interesting. It would certainly add some time to the trip home, but that is OK. Does anyone know if that road is in good repair and if it is worth the extra time? Thanks in advance.
