Cool Culinary Advice

My sons and I are going to the 4 corners area. We would rather not eat in chain restaurants, and also wish to avoid the worst of the greasy spoons that the locals might like.

Specifically, are there any good places in Farmington NM, Page AZ, Hurricane UT or reasonably near any of these areas.

Just rode Philly to Cal. Spent 2 days in KanAb, UT as it was central to nortth rim, Bryce and Zion. Ate 2 nights at the Rockin V Cafe. Excellent food that was a welcome relief from the greasy spoons.

Check out roadfood.com. Search the forum "Where Should I Eat" for a particular town. In my travels over the last half-dozen years I've not once eaten at a chain eatery.
Have a great trip!

Try to hit the Burger King in Kayenta, AZ, but not necessarily to eat. The owner has the place fixed up as a museum to the WWII Navaho codetalkers. This sounds like a joke but it's not.

I came through Kanab and I'll "ditto" the Rocking V cafe. They have their own chef. It's not cheap but the food is prepared food. The owners wife makes the deserts. I stayed at the motel across from the Shiloh Inn. They owner is a nice guy. Kanab is neat. They filmed Rin Tin Tin and Wagon Train. Happy trails to you!
