You might want to do a Google Image search on Franconia Notch too before you pass up this area.

Loads of campgrounds all around here - it's all White Mountains National Forest. This area is well worth a few days of anyone's time.

+1 Dont let the hway name scare you off. It has the best NH can offer.
You can comfortably ride at 35mph or 60 mph. Traffic is Scarce unless its in the Autumn.

My wife and I have made a couple of runs up the east coast. DC is the only area we hit much traffic. This year we are going up to Americade, and then thru NH and across to Canada. We will come back into the states at Niagra Falls or else cross over to Michigan. She rides a flstc and I have the flhtc. One thing we do is Not set a specific route or time table. Don
