The last I heard it was going to be August. No big deal. We can always go up to Highlands and Scaly Mountain, I have some family that lives there. This will be my first trip up there on the bike so it should be a good one.

129
we arrived home sunday night from NC/Tenn area. we did not encounter any if 129 closed.the tail is still closed 11 miles in and also a section of the brp is still closed. however after all the rains this past week you might do some checking.
no more spring vacations going east for us.the rain and tornado's pretty much screwed up everything. the drive home down i40 was intense. neve rencountered rain like that b4.

On the way to the Cherokee Rally I went a little out of my way and caught 28 in Highlands and rode on up thru Franklin then to 74 "dang good ride". As far as getting to Gatlinburg from there why not go over Clingmans Dome thru Cherokee, We did that last year & yes another "Awsome ride". You could also stay in Cherokee I give them creidt they are really biker freindly around there. Just don't be way drunk in public! Anyway have fun & becareful!

Yeah, I love Highlands and Scaly mnt. My great grandparents lived there before they passed. I still have some family that lives up there, beautiful area. I had to ride up to kentucky for a few days to see my wifes dad and on the way back stopped in Tenn for gas and talked to a trooper. She said that 129 was opened back up. The highlight of the trip wont be the Dragon just wanted to knock it out while I was going up that way. I hear the Cheroholah Skyway is awesome. Cherokee is pretty cool although I was bummed when I went into Harrahs and there was no alchohol. This was a few years ago. I hear they serve it now. I'll def keep the clingmans dome in mind.
