Default MA to York, Pennsylvania - What's not to miss?

Planning a trip to York, PA from Boston, in Sept. We'll have a week to do the trip... Mostly interested in what not to miss in Pennsylvania - Lancaster County, best rides, places to eat, etc. We'll do the tour of the factory in York, of course. Gotta see where our baby was built!

Thanks everyone.

You won't be too far from "The East Coast Grand Canyon"...

I live about 10 miles from the PA Grand Canyon. Both east & west rims are within 25 or 30 miles from route 15 at Mansfield. Worth the trip over. 15 goes all the way to Frederick MD from Corning NY. I'm not crazy about being on interstate 83 from Harrisburg to York, but 15's a nice ride. Near Hanover PA you can get 30 east to York. The factory's right on 30, about a mile east of 83.

If you take the Mass Pike to Albany, and down 88 to Binghamton, it's about an hour to 15, at Corning NY. If you take 84 through Hartford & to Scranton, 15 & the Grand Canyon might be too far west for you to want to go over. I'd do 88 to Binghamton & down 15. About the same amount of time.

+1 on the Grand Cayon of Pa. There are a lot of alternative roads to get from Harrisburg to York besides I83. Just depends on what your preferences and time schedules are like. I would definitely recommend a trip west on RT 30 from York and visiting Gettysburg. If you have any interest in history and the Civil War, it's worth the ride.

Let me know if you'd like some help with side roads in the York area. I'm about 4 miles from the plant.

Here are some good riding roads in Pa. We went from Dover De, to Elmira NY.

Here are the roads
De. RT15
to 310 in Maryland
213 turns to 841 in Pa
896 in Lancaster awwsome riding
30 to 283
to 743
39 to a t- in the road I made a left to 147
to 61 to 487 to 54 to 15 to 220 to 287 to 660 to 287 to 328 towards Elmira.

I am sorry I dont have more info as far as what towns to head for but hopes this helps. All roads were great and thinking of taking a buddy on the route later this summer.

If you do a search on Dover to Pa you should find more info for these roads.

Tours are still available, but open house festivities are canceled on Harley grounds this year.
