As a rule when is the earliest you can ride in the smokies ?

 

If your down around Gatlinberg it gets warm around march to April 15 but when you hit the smokey mtns it will drop around 10 - 15 deg on top. We got trees blooming here around late march.

 

I've been down at Deals Gap in my cage the past 2 years, last part of April/first part of May. In 2010, it was rainy the first day we got there. This past April a tornado came through. DOT had the roads cleared off pretty quickly though.

 

Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort has a Facebook page that you can keep up with whats going on in the area.

 

I'll be in Deals Gap on April 23-24, then looping north through the Shenandoah Valley before heading east to catch the last few days of the Outer Banks Bike Week.

 

Ditto. Would probably be Friday the 18th on a group ride.

 

It is hit or miss that time of year just be sure to bring your leathers just to be on the safe side.

I wouldn't advise going April 13th -18th.. there's gonna be a huge car meet there for S2000's. We usually do it twice a year in April and August or September. We usually are very respectful to everyone that's why we keep getting invited back to Fontana Village.
