Front Royal and Waynesboro Dining.
A few friends and I are going on a ride in a couple weeks that will take us through Front Royal, then to Waynesboro via Skyline Drive. We will be stopping in Front Royal and staying in Waynesboro. I was wondering if anyone could recommend places to eat in either of those towns. I don't want chain food, or fake homestyle dining. I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

Two places near Massanutten on US 33 that I would recommend are:
http://thethunderbirdcafe.com/
http://www.hankssmokehouse.com/
About 10 miles off Skyline Drive on a great motorcycle road and a good break from the 35mph Skyline Drive.

OK, I'll address the Front Royal part. First I'm a Jersey boy and don't believe there's any decent pizza, bagles or Doo-Wop anywhere south of Philly.
But, if your coming in from I-81 instead of taking I-66 to Front Royal get off in Winchester at exit 313A for Rt.522 south. Make the first right from the exit ramp and head south on 522. On the left a couple of miles south will be Mamma Angelina's, 1181 Front Royal Pike (522) (540-662-4202). Tony is a rider and is from Jersey. Need I say more? 522 turns into 340 another 6 miles south and brings you right into Front Royal after another 6 miles.
In downtown F.R. the place to have lunch or dinner is Soul Mountain at 300 E. Main St. (540-636-0070) There is a safe parking lot just around the corner with free parking. It looks a bit shabby because of the pawn shop on the corner, but it's OK I go there all the time. It's just 3 blocks off of 340 and that takes you to Skyline Drive, another 1/3 mile south.
The more interesting menu would be Soul Mountain. It's a mix of Cajun/Caribbean
