San Diego this week
Think I might grab a bike for a day ride in San Diego area. Maybe PH to LA? Head east? Any suggestions and must rides?

The last time I rode from LA to Phoenix it was above 110° all the way from Redlands to Phoenix. Miserable day. Wouldn't be too bad this time of year, though.

Yes - Ride east up into the hills (check weather) to Julian, stop at the Julian Cafe for some excellent pie, then head over to Palomar observatory.
I rented from Eaglerider in San Diego if I remember correctly. They had ride maps. Well worth it.
If you have more time head north up to Mulholland.
