Default Dealer trade text

Sitting home and received text from the dealer that I purchased my 2016 Ultra CVO from inquiring if I was interested in hearing the numbers and great deal they could work on a trade for a 2018 CVO they have on their floor.
I figured no harm in asking so I said sure.
Turns out they will give me $22,000.00 for mine on trade and I will have to come to the table with the other $27,800.00 for the new one.
They are selling the new bike for $49,800.00 plus tax and all other fees. They proceeded to tell me it's a hot commodity and are only allowing them 18 CVOs for the year and are only producing limited numbers.
Also told me it's well worth the money for the 117 engine..
This is the same dealer that did give me a great deal buying it 1 1/2 years ago and gave me almost 22k for my 2 1/2 year old Limited with 12k more miles then this bike.
Kind of ruined my day hearing that so I went into the garage and fell in love with my bike all over again.

$49,800.00, I don't think so....but I guess they have to make up for losses...

We'll see where the market is in another 6 months. On the other hand, I've never seen the used Harley market crater like this even for the cvo's. I recently saw someone selling a 2017 cvo SG with 500 miles on it for $33k and someone else selling a 2014 cvo limited with 9k miles for $24k. Used seems to be the way to go.

Places like Austin TX (RoundRock) usually add at least $10K and never have one on the floor as they sell them as fast as they get them. Austin has some high dollar jobs and in Texas we can ride year around.

Because of all my bikes' motor problems I'll never buy another Harley, but you'd play hell taking the one I have.

I can buy a nice home in central Florida for 100K.

49K for a motorcycle? Whoa! Too rich for me
