Default 2017 CVO to 2018 CVO Limited Boom differences?

Wow HD really makes it hard to understand what the differences are in that boom system. I just looked at a 2018 CVO limited and the speakers definitely look like they are different than my 2017 CVO SG, but the salesman said both systems are 600 watt. Not sure I agree with him as my 2017 cvo SG has an extra amp in the saddlebag and I didn't see any other amps on the 2018 CVO limited.

One almost has to ask, why the heck did they complicate this so much? Anyone know the differences? On my 2017 CVO street glide it's pretty simple. You have one amp in the front to drive the front speakers and one amp in the back to drive the rear speakers. Each speaker sees 150 watts for a total of 600 watts.

On the 2018 limited it appears there is only one amp. How are they getting the same power out of that? Or is the salesman wrong?

CVO SG now has 6 speakers and 3 amps. More space lost for an somewhat ok sound system.

Thanks for the answers guys. I did listen to the 18 limited and although it doesn't sound as good as my 17 CVO SG it still sounds pretty freakin good.

For those of you that have CVO limiteds, how does it sound on the highway? I kind of like my music a little loud.

I've a 16 CVO RG with Boom stage 1. It sucks!!!

They all sound good in a garage or sales floor. Boom stage II isn't much better from what I've heard. If you want a nice stereo gonna have to spend some coin on aftermarket.

Agreed. I was checking out the new scoots last week and listening to salesman tell a customer all about the stereos. Got a chuckle out of it, but for your average rider, I'm sure it's just fine with the bragging rights of 900W in the SG.
It is adequate for me. Sounds decent and I only have it at 1/2 volume on highway and can hear it just fine. Not the system I'd buy if the bike could be ordered stereo delete.

I agree the 900 watts is plenty lol. But really the question was for the CVO limited folks who only have 300 watts. How does it sound on the highway? Is volume at half way enough?
