Question 2012 HK Radio issue

Went for a distancing ride with some friends today. Of course ny has many bumps so this may add to the problem im having. quite a few times today my sound would cut out but the radio would stay on. I heard a click line a loose wire causing it. im thinking of checking the speaker connections but where else would i be looking? I have the Garmin nav system as well on my bike. I will have to remove the from fairing to check it out. I have done it before no biggie. Just wondering what wires would cause this. Shouldn't be and power wire issue since the radio stays on. thanks

Those stereos are famous for that discrepancy. Get in touch with the folks at http://www.ironcrossaudio.com. They will fix you right up for about $200 bucks. It's the connections inside the radio that is causing your intermittent audio issue.

So what I have been reading is this . This is a very common problem due to a solder joint becoming loose. My thing is this yes i can send it to iron cross radio, it repaired at my expense. I also have the 5 yr HD warranty with a 50.00 deductible. I think they replace the radio but would it be replaced with a new one or a refurbished one that may due the same thing after the warranty expires. thanks Jeff
