Default 2009 CVO Fatbob

Has anyone with a 2009 cvo fat bob had a problem with the front tire losing air. Just wondering if those special wheels have a problem. The front tire has been losing air since it was new. I have tried soapy water and checked the valve stem. Guess i may have to submerge it in water. Just wondering if it's just my bike or other people having problems.

I just bought mine two weeks ago so I probably haven't had it long enough to notice a problem ... however the tire pressure has remained contant in the time that I have had it. How quickly is yours losing air?

Mine (2007 FXDSE) did it when the bike was new, something about the finish on the chrome, but now after almost three years it might lose about a half a pound a week.

I'm losing 5 pounds a week. I have a year left on the warranty. I would think it should be covered.

Dave1978,
Have you found any more info on this?
I bought my 09 FXDFSE Oct 2010. I brought it home, a week later I noticed the front end felt heavy. checked the pressure and it was reading 15 PSI, my first thought was the dealer did not check it but I rememebr ed it felt fine while riding it home. So I started monitoring it and sure enough I loose 2-3 lbs over night.

Thanks

Abearsfan, after a year of adding air to the front tire, i took it to the dealership. They took it off the rim and cleaned it real good. It still leaked about 7 pounds every two weeks, so i called them and they ordered a new rim for me under warranty. The rim was bad. You most likely will need a new one also.

This is something I have not started checking until I bought one a couple years ago... there's a valve stem tightener that tightens the center pin. It costs like seventy five cents. Almost every single vehicle they are all a little loose and thats all it takes. Try this out, you will see I'm probably correct.

Ridenchrome, I submerged the tire and rim in a tub of water and the cvo rim was seeping air in five places about an inch apart on one side of the rim. The valve stem was fine. Even after the dealership took the tire off the rim and cleaned it, it still seeped air. After a new cvo rim under warranty, i'm good to go. It sure doesn't hurt to check the valve stem though. Thanks for your input.

WoW, are you the original owner or let anyone ride your bike? The only time I ever hear it leaking off the rim is when a tire hit a curb just right with low air pressure bending the rim with no visible signs. Glad you got it swapped w\ no issues! Ride on......
