Default 2003 Screaming Eagle Road King

Right now I have a 2003 Wide Glide with the 88 and it has proven bulletproof for my needs.

I’m considering buying a 2003 Screaming Eagle Road King FLHRSEI2 with the 103 cubic inch engine. How are the 03 CVO motors, do they typically have bearing problems like the stock 06’s or any other issues that I might want to know about? How about the trannys or anything else? Thanks a lot, I appreciate any thoughts. Bob

My friend had one for about 5 years. He bought it new. He never had any engine issues. It ran flawlessly. Only issue I know is he had to eventually had to replace the cruise module.

Bob, I have had mine for 7 years and have had 0 issues with motor after 48000 miles. As other poster stated, I had to replace cruise control module as well. In additon, the cam adjuster had to be replaced. Dealership installed new cam kit and oil pump at the same time, it was covered under Extended Service Plan.
I am considering trading it in for a 2011 FLTRU, same 103 engine. I have grown to like the road glide.
It has a factory painted matching tour pack and I also bought a dragon fly fairing that they painted. Dealership says they both add nothing to the value, so I am selling those 2 on the side if you are interested when you get yours. FWIW, they quoted me 13000 for trade.

If you still have the tour pack and fairing for the 2003 SE Road King for sale, I am interested in buying them. Email me at curiousgeorge246@hotmail.com. Thanks.

Default 2003 Road King Screamin Eagle

Mine has 23000 miles on it and no issues. Love the bike. Do you have any idea as to how many were produced? I know it was a limited production.

.
NO No NO! The 103 motor in the '03 is a big bore, short stroke ( 4.00") set up.

The current 103 is a punched out 96" with the longer stroke ( 4.38")

I prefer the older model myself. My 95" S/E Road Glide just turned 94,000 miles.Short stroke ( 4.00")

Sorry but you are mistaken. Look up the specs. It has the stroker crank from the factory.

The new 103 is pretty limp out the the box with the old 96cu epa cams. I think you might be disappointed comparing it to a older SE version.
