How are your experiences with dealer markup over msrp? One way is "dealer prep". Mine is getting me for 2k. Said it there was a lot of work in setting up infotainment, etc., and took about 4 hours (know he was exaggerating). So I said $500 per hour is what I should expect to pay for shop labor ......his face turned red!!!

I am continually amazed at folks like you who refer to the dealership as a 'stealership'. If you don't like the price offered take your business elsewhere. Another alternative is to invest several hundreds of thousands or perhaps millions and secure yourself a Harley franchise and sell 'em for whatever you want to. Funny how people whine about the price of motorcycles and berate the dealer. When's the last time you didn't like the price of another commodity, say a TV set, and looked up the manager of the WalMart or whatever store and decided to complain about that price? Better yet, how about comparing the profit margin of a dealership and the company you work for? Of course if you are a government employee that doesn't count...they are never required to produce a commodity or profit.
End of rant.
Or do what I do... I buy my bikes (and cars) new after the next model year has made it to the sales floor. All of my current vehicles were at least 5K off sticker +ttl and small admin fees.
HD stealers should not be allowed any profit, every sale should be at a 20% loss.
And the dealer should provide free tech support for those ebay items.
Then warranty the indy screw ups
Dealer prep and freight charges are clearly stated on the web and sticker price on the bike, there is NO set up on the infotainment that is BS and don't believe the dealer/service told you that. Auto dealers charge for the same
Walk away, only way to keep things fair. Yes, dealers are entitled to a profit but not gouging. They make 20-25% or so on new bikes at regular msrp and probably 35-40% on accessories.
