Default Oil starved front head?

My '79 FXE developed an occasional loud squeaking at lower rpm. Pretty clear it's coming from the front cylinder. I've heard an occasional mention of front cylinders being 'oil starved'. Can anyone elaborate on this for me so i may learn somethin' new?

If the oil pumps ok and the oil lines aren't plugged the stock upper ends on a shovel tend to over oil not starve, we used to solder the case fitting closed and redrill a smaller feed hole to help control it better.

You hear a squeak I'd be looking for a blown head gasket or exhaust gasket first, anything mechanical it'll get real noisy quick.
