Yet another question.. Will a 95 HD springer fit my shovel? I have a 78 FLH and have a buddy selling a springer from what was supposedly a bad boy. What would it take to fit it to my bike? How does the rake and length compare? I'm contemplating putting a springer on my bike, and it's come to this or possibly a paughco. Thanks again!

It'll bolt up no issues, only thing I'd check is distance from the top of the triple trees to center of axle on both and compare lengths to make sure you aren't dropping the front of the bike with springer, a little longer isn't a problem. Should be real close.

Springer doesn't compress much so on the kickstands fine, memory serves me right think the springer is a couple inches longer, shovel looks good with them.

Does my hydraulic front end need to be off the ground?

The Springer goes on no problem, and...as said, it is a bit tall but OK. My Problem is I dislike the "Fork Stops".
Mighty close to the Tanks [Fat Bob] on the one my youngest did.. His happens to be an FX Springer..
If I was to do it... I would Likely use Raked bearing cups, and then I would most certainly need to do something with the Stops... but, That's just my way there..
Put 'er on and Enjoy it...
BTW, About any H-D front end will Bolt up... even Sportster after about 1979 or '80... Fork stops???? that is a Different story...

I’ve decided against it. Too much money for the condition it’s in, and silly as it may sound, I don’t like the look of the shock. I think I’ll go aftermarket - most likely Paughco.

The "shock" has been around since 1946, made by Monroe. In '46 you could get the shock or ride control, I believe '47 and up only the shock. They made springers for 45's up to 1952, not sure when the Servi's went to hydraulics. So in my book, the shock is OK on the modern springers.

And...I dislike the Paughco Springer... To My Eye the Mid USA antique style, Springer most resembles the original, and they look to be well made...first saw them at the now defunct [Dammit] Cincinnati Trade show...I like 'em...
