Default Adapting Ham Can to S&S Super E

What's the best way to adapt the Ham Can air cleaner to a S&S Super E?
Does it fit?

First... You talking the original Ham Can... or the New Big *** air cleaner that folks have come to Call a Ham Can...
As if we didn't have a "name" for the original!!!!
Either way.. where there is a Will...there is a Way... especially if you don't care how far it Sticks Out.
As I posted in a Different place; The Best way is to Learn to jet the good ole Ka-Sneeze.. If Half as much Time, Effort, Print, Internet Bandwidth, was expended on "tuning" the stock butterfly Keihin, as has been expended on the S&S... we would all be comfortable with the Old Carb...as It is just fine for the "Stock" application...
Off the Soapbox... It is all in the backing Plate... I would probably start with one of the Chiwanese "tin" knock-off backing plates...so that some modifications, including welding, could be employed.. I'm Not doing it...as I see about Zero Need/Reward.....

Sorry.... That is not Original
that did Not hit the scene till about 1979 or so... the Original started on the Panhead...Now referred to as Oval... because someone Stole the Name!!!!
Yea... it was the MoCo because they put it on the Sportster!!!
Anyway.. that one is best suited to the original Keihin Carb... While the Original is easily adapted with a Backing Plate...again...look to the Sportster for Inspiration..
I cannot imagine how far that Big *** newer air box will stick out with a Flush Backing Plate..
Most folks use that Box, [me Included] on Survivors, or maybe restorations... in which case... the S&S overrated as they are, are certainly Out of Place...
Luckily, I was Poor during the '70's and early '80's...and so... I learned to tune what we had, out of Necessity..

Note; In the Early Days we Drag Raced in the Box Stock Class... of course that includes Carburetor... set more than a Few Records too...
after the Stock Class went away, we tried the Gotta have it, oh so much better S&S Carb... on a basically [fairly] stock Engine.... No Change, as we had the thing tuned to the Max... Modified Engines????? Game-On... S&S because they Sponsored me... QwikSilver, because they really Work!!!
And of Course... I still kinda like the Original Screamin Eagle, butterfly carb [rebranded Andrews Flowmaster]

Give this Website a look:

https://www.wwag.com/cgi-bin/WebObje...page=%21114199

I bought their adapter for a S&S to a stock air cleaner for my '70. I had to do a very minor modification to their adapter to make it fit, one beer job and we look stock. Not sure which one for your application but for the earlier oval air cleaner I used this one:

I then modified the carb support bracket I had to work with my application. What ever you do it is going to be custom, but the adapter may be a good stating point. Good luck.

Back to my original question:

Has anyone adapted the air cleaner pictured above to a S&S super E?

Thanks Architect

The adapter from Germany is pretty pricey...a little drilling and welding works too
