Default cast wheels for 82 FLH

I have a stock 1982 FLH. I'm thinking about going from spokes ( newest girl won't clean them either) to cast wheels. QUESTION IS: Are the front and rear wheels the same???????????? They look the same on my stock 78 FLH ( which I bought with cast wheels)
ALSO, could the 82 and the 78 wheels be swapped with each other?

I've been trying to research the same thing for the custom look I'm going for. I've found mention that the bolt pattern for the rear wheel sprocket is different than the disc brake on the right side, i.e. front wheel dual disc . . . ? Btw '79 FXEF

the rear wheel has same bolt pattern but different bolt sizes. My 82 flh front wheel is single disc. They look interchangeable.
I could just spend the day and try to swap the wheels on the two bikes but I know someone knows this answer.

I do know that both sides of the wheels hub are threaded, however, the question is, are they 7/16-3/8 or 3/8-3/8 for dual brake set ups?

Rear wheel:
Right side = 3/8"-16
Left side = 7/16"-14

Front wheel:
Right side = 3/8"-16
Left side = ???

figure that out and you've got your answer.

Just sorted some 16 spoke turbines on my 77 glide (single disc). Both wheels are the same, larger studs for the sprocket on the rear. Same size disc bolts front and rear with a small chrome hubcap covering the larger holes on the front.

parts book is confusing for fx wheels, so can’t answer for them

I'm still debating if I should just keep it stock-looking and buy the chrome rim and spokes. I love that look but don't mind the cast wheels on my 78 FLH.
I'm the guy who yells at others from going away from a stock factory bike, BUT I'm sure this 82 had the cast or spoke wheels from the factory.

thanks guys. the cast wheel I just got off marketplace has 3/8 threads and 7/16 threads. It will work on rear and front ( single disc). Yesterday I pulled the rear wheel on the 82 flh to confirm and you were right.
Still debating on staying with AND buying NEW chrome rims and spokes (and tires) to keep things stock looking( Love that ole spoke look) or keep going with the cast wheels. BUT I see kinko4fxd picture has his 82 FLH with cast wheels. BEAUTIFUL bike. Was that stock from the factory?????????????

I bought it from the original owner so I'm guessing they were stock. I do like spokes better.

there's an added bonus with cast wheels and that is you can run tubeless tires, so if you get a puncture, you can do a roadside repair.......ask me how i know LOL
