Default Best fit exhaust pipe

This is a continuation of what is becoming a small can of worms. With he problems I have had with my clutch (other thread) I have ordered the TO bearing and will need to take off the trans cover. While removing the heat shields from the right side I see the the exhaust pipe is broken and partially welded below the junction with the rear cylinder. This is the pipe from both cylinders and has the crossover behind the rear one (#65496-7)0 . I was looking at buying another (#65496-70) but thought I should ask the experts on reputable companies for good quality and fit or companies to avoid.
Or is this salvageable? I could probably braze up a good bit of it. Its quite stable as long as the muffler is connected

Top of joint

Bottom with heat shield on

Sometimes you come accross a Nice system... but it takes perseverance... and you will waste some Money...

I really don't want to buy another exhaust system but yours would have saved me a good bit of time so far.
. So you're says buy an OEM from someone not trust an aftermarket vendor. I don't imagine the originals have HD stamped on them....what are the chinese characters for HD?

I have never seen any except H-D exhaust with Numbers or other identification on them..
The one I am Using is aftermarket, as it is Stainless.. except the cigar muffler is O.E..
I absolutely Dislike the "new true duals" not for me...and the Crossover two into two is much too complicated for my Taste..I looked a very long time for this setup...and got it used from a forum Member who wanted a Two into Two O.E. Setup I had on hand..
Finding Aftermarket stuff that actually Fits is a Giant pain..I do believe that I may yet have a 2 into 1 here someplace for electric start Only... Nothing I want..

Someone here or the other forum went through a lot finding aftermarket that fit. I think he wound up with Paugho.

I get it if "o.e. Only " is your thing, just never been my thing.

I would suggest looking at Gasbox. Have one of their pipes on my bike and have no complaints

As stated, aftermarket just does not fit right, it becomes a thing.

The Bay is your friend, get the correct part # and start searching being patient. I do not think that pipe should be all that hard to find, should be the same part # for most of the 70's.

All Flh Pipes for Shovelheads after about 1972 are Pretty Much the same..a 2 into 2 and the split pipe at the rear... No Kicker because the Pipe cuts accross at the Trans cover, where they used the "dented" for clearance trans cover I do Not think they were many Repops of that Pipe..

I have actually found one there yesterday but it had been welded in the same place where mine is broken.
