i am trying to decide what color to repaint my 1983 FXWG, i really like this color on this 1983 FXRT, so to all you FXRT Experts , dose any one know the name of this color ?


I really like the color, but don't know the name for it, any FXRT experts know it ? thanks for any help !!

 

Go search the FXR groups on FB. They have all of that info.

Sorry, I don't do FB anymore either. You need to talk to the painter they call Bondo. HE has all that info. He's in Orange County CA. Can't remember the name of his shop right now.

 

The name of the picture you posted is fxrt_in_claret_red. Wouldn't that answer your question?

not sure if its Claret Red or not , in the 1983 Model Brochure the Wide Glide that's pictured looks like Burgundy shade & this FXRT looks more Red/Orange , i did talk to Eric at the Harley Davidson Costumer Care & he told me that the 1983 FXRT Sport Touring came in 2 variations "Black W/ Pinstripe" & "Red W/ Pinstripe" Harley Davidson dose not give out paint codes so now the hunt is on to try to find an original Fender to color match . . .

 

OK, I'll ask and let you know what they say.

 

One guy responded with a Craigslist ad of an original 84 FXRT. Not sure if this will help. I'll keep checking in at the FXR forum.

1984 FXRT Sport Touring , in this light the color looks like a normal Red . . . nothing special . . .
