For God's sake man, buy an engine stand. All I can see is your engine falling off the bench and smashing the cases into little bits.

For Gods sake Joe, you think this is my first rodeo? But since your inquiring mind wants to know, I do have a engine stand. Since you noticed that there wasn't a engine stand, look a little closer and notice that the cases arn't bolted together, the cylinders aren't bolted to the cases, the heads aren't bolted to the cylinders and the rocker boxes aren't bolted to to heads. There's no rockers and no crankshaft. It's empty.

Well I hate to be the negative Nancy.. but it won’t run like that. You’ll need to use those parts you took out.

I got my low end back from the builder yesterday. Nice and shiney bushings and bearings. Due to a tragic family event last week, I'm going to put the project on hold for a few weeks. Thanks for following this thread.

This threads made me take a hard look at all the tools I have I haven't used in years like the Rowe Truing stand, the flywheel balancing kit, Jim's case line lap tool, kwik way seat cutters and such. Either going to have to do something with them and all the extra parts or sell it all.

Has the demand slowed that much over the years??

Round these part yeah, shovels are a rarity anymore out in public and even evo's aren't a regular thing. Myself I just got tired of the nonsense and backed out of side work some years back. Just seemed to be fundamental change in people and what they wanted or expected, got real entertaining on occasion. Where we're retiring to I just don't see much to be doing with it all getting honest about it.

Freaking with the public can wear you down and start to lose interest in what you like to do... Sorry to hear..

I don't want to put a lot on people but Valentines Day my wife of 40 years was killed in a motor vehicle crash coming home from work. Here it is two weeks later and I had two of her best girlfriends over to help me sort through her clothes to donate them to a women's shelter. Her being an executive level secretary, she has some very nice clothes and shoes.
One of the girls came across this old picture of me on my brand new 1973 FLH in Paderborn Germany. I'm finding old pictures of her on her bikes from a long time ago. Thanks, Al
