Default Looking for neck (frame) protectors

Like an idiot, I overlooked fork stops when I was putting my bike together. Running a panhead 41mm front end, so the lower trees have hit the paint on both sides. A buddy of mine mentioned that, back in the 90s, he remembered seeing a lot of bikes with a small bit of stainless hardware that basically served to cover the frame right where they make contact. I’ve been digging around looking for something, and all I’ve found so far is this kit from CCI on ebay. I’m having a hard time visualizing how it’ll look on the bike, so I was hoping someone might be running something similar that I could get pictures of. I know about the neck cup/fork stop combos, but at this point, I want something that’ll hide the chips in the paint as well as stopping the forks. Thanks in advance.

They also make neck cups that have pins that internal fork stop the forks you dont see and have different locations to stop at for special tanks

Thanks, but like I said in my original post, those aren’t what I’m looking for.

Didn't like the way my fork stops were chipping the one off powder paint job on my frame and a bit later when I did the fat inverted conversion really didn't like how close they came to the tanks. So took a 1/8" thick 1" wide piece of stainless, did some measuring and a little forming with the grinder and the plastic hammers and wrapped it around nice and tight under the neck where the forkstops hit, Clean, you barely see it and just enough to solve the issues that started this little adventure. Bikes surrounded by crap right now so can't get a pic for you.

I was definitely thinking something like this also. How is your little contraption attached to the frame? I have six weeks out of town, so I’m not in a big rush. Would definitely love to see a pic if you have a chance between now and the end of March.

My Crossbones did the same thing right from the factory, I just glued some thin Buna rubber to the neck and problem solved and no more CLUNK.
