Only problems I've had is getting a starter and healthy enough battery to hold up in it, keep telling myself I'm going to pull one set of plugs and install compression releases but I never have. That'd be the only real change I'd make over how it came out of the crate. As to why I went with it, age, miles and abuse metal fatigue got to my cases and I had some cash to play with and the price was a can't pass it up deal at the time. Can be a pain to get started occasionally but it's ridiculous fun when out playing.

What were your issues ?

same reason I cracked my cases and was scared to weld them up.
didn't get a deal on the price paid the full seven grand tore it out the crate easy to install.
But like you said the starter and the battery. The starter actually slows down. other than that, it's fun to ride.
my two warranty went wayside about two years ago. S&S gave me a new Eletronic ignition.
under the two-year warranty program oh and i went through a few drive gears

Got mine for $4k shipped, I'd have been over that redoing mine with new cases and all the extras that came with the crate motor. Was a no brainer at the time, might drop a milder cam in her at some point, the .600 in it now is overkill for the little I ride her anymore.

longer duration less static

short duration hi static as its lower when the valve closes

Tom sifton built short lift long duration for street strokers - and he was right on as it was all kick start then
