I wouldn't strut it, personally. There are some Awesome looking shovels with shocks. Looks like you have a great bike to start with. Here's a Ton of swingarm shovels for inspiration:

I agree, the bars look horrible. You could easily sell the front and rear wheel for plenty to get a nice spoke or mag setup. How about swapping to kick only w/ a magneto setup? This way you could lose almost all the wiring in/on the bike and bars and run an even smaller battery. Let's see a rear shot. Put a narrowed fatbob, wassell, or sporty tank on there and it will really help narrow the bike out. I'd probably have the oil tank painted to blend a little better. You could DIY or send off the fork sliders to have the fender supports taken off and smoothed. (Like this: http://www.jockeyjournal.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=55279) All kinds of cool stuff you could do with that bike. Right on, man.

Country Punk... gonna pick up a kickstart kit for sure. gonna still keep the starter and install a pushbutton on solenoid to clean up all the wiring on bars. should just have front brake lever left when i am done.
also, already ahead of you on tank... sporty tank and front end are in my near future!
gonna be a fun project this winter.
