So curious here, has the primary lubrication been seperated (disconnected) from the engine lube system? The bolt you replaced should be wire tied to the bolt below it; are there holes in that lower bolt to accomodate wire? If not they have been replaced at one point or another.

 

There are no holes in either bolt. It wouldn't be difficult to do though...if you're talking about what I think you're talking about. Just drill holes on the heads and safety wire them together? That would make me feel better. I'm paranoid that one is going to come out while I'm rolling and I think that would cause some chaos.

I ended up using a lighter weight gear lube from Lucas. Been on it all week. Running like a top.
