Default Vulcan lifter/block/pushrod update

I am upgrading my 78 to the 'bikers choice" Vulcan lifter/block/pushrod set up. i will be using an Andrews A2 cam.
Since it is now to be a bottom up oiling system, should I plug the upper oil lines? The only instructions that came with the set is how to adjust the pushrods.

Another note; this is a very nice machined set, looks like a quality product.
Known mods are, S&S E, and one piece baffled exhaust and a crane H I4. The heads are not HD, but I do not know the manufacturer, Exhaust port looks stock. I don't know about the intake.
Thanks

The vulcan kit has no provision for oiling the rocker arms...like the jim's and s & s kits....so oil lines have to stay

in the heat out here, 60 or 70 wt is more like 50 wt. That is why we use it. This is the first I've heard that a multigrade needs to be run with these. I know many people that run evos with 60 or 70 during our 120/130 heat. Why would it be any different than those. Are there any known problems or are they too new to have info. Thanks

I wouldn't run 70 wt with them but 50 doesn't hurt a thing I ran it with my Jims lifters for years .

Leave the external oiling on it you need it to lube the rocker arm bushings . What I would do is an old fix we used to do on shovels as the upper ends are over oiled anyway . Pull the fitting on the cases and solder the small hole shut then take a .065" drill bit and run through it . That's the actual port size it's supposed to be , came from a factory service bulletin way back when . You'll find you use less oil and the rocker boxes & orings won't be leaking as often .

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. The sales lit I read stated that it was a bottom up oiling system, which is why I had asked the question. These will work fine and are a major improvement over the Sifton solids that this 78 came with. Again thanks.

If your going to hyd. lifters look into Vthunder cams , they are made for hydraulic's and work great in shovels . Unlike other brands they start making hp about 1500 RPM and the higher end ones to 6000 plus . I've used them for years and love them even in my bigger 88 & 93 inch motors . Only thing you do need to install a high lift spring kit on the valves . Worth the effort , makes a solid daily rider with HP you actually feel & use . Quits a lot of the motor noise too .
