i have a 08 street bob with a 96 ci eng s/e breather and pipes a power comander 3.the problem is a whining noise in 1st gear that increases with the rpms until it is put in 2nd gear then its gone.it sounds like its coming from the primary side. thanks for any info

 

The Harley auto tensioners are known for this.

 

Here the same noise on 11 SB in first hit second no problems, I don't know why there is the whinnig sound.

 

Aren't 1st and 5th straight cut gears while the rest are helical? I get a little whine in first and fifth but I expect it because they are straight cut unlike the rest.
