The story about the FatBoy is, it was a lemon. In 3 months and less than 2000 miles it had a lot of corrosion showing on the frame and swing arm welds, the wheels had corrosion in the polished lip, powder coating on the top yoke was thin and coming away, on the under side the frame finish had eroded away and was replaced by surface rust, the horn didn't work the speedo had issues and there was rust in the fuel tank. Also there was a minor cold start issue.
The bike was always garage, washed dried and protected with ACF50 corrosion inhibitor. The wheels were regularly polished, waxed and protected. It felt like I was fighting a loosing battle with it as it was problem after problem so the dealer had it back of me and did me a great deal on the roadie. I've never experienced a bad a bike as that FatBoy before.

 

fatboy story is interesting. Scotland is seabound and would test Harley quality or lack of it.
Anyway, enjoy the RG. Wear it out.
