howdy all... I guess I am a Touring "hang around" at the moment. For the last 2.5 years I have enjoyed my 2008 Crossbones but recently I guess I am looking for more comfort. I rode to Sturgis this year from Denver and back and totalled around 1050 miles after about 4 days. But my back and neck paid for it! lol Also my wife loves to ride on the back but I have found the Xbones while it looks cool is not the best riding for two up especially here in Colorado where and easy ride can turn into a couple hundred mile ride easily due to getting zoned out with the beauty of CO.
I recently test rode a 2012 RG and thought it was an excellent machine. I'll miss my Xbones but I think if I get a nice RG I won't miss it so much anymore...Just my .02 and general Monday morning banter... Happy Monday all..

Sorry to be the cynic, but your post has a couple of serious wording issues. The words "happy" and "Monday" never belong in the same sentence; let alone being paired up right next to eachother. "Happy Friday" - now thats a different story.
To address your other part of the post... I went from a Heritage Softail to a Road King Classic, and I have never looked back. The ride is totally different and you actually look forward to long stretches of road on a touring bike. RG, SG, or anything in the touring class will be a big improvement for big road trips.

Yes Mondays are about as Happy as a going to a wedding, or funeral or whatever pain and suffering you love to endure! Morning Punisher.
After 8 years on a Road King my moved up to a Road Gulid Ultra. His wife & him love their new
RG-Ultra, and now are riding in way more comfort than on his old Road King. After looking cool
when riding, the lack of comfort over rides the cool look, comfort play's a big part of two up riding.
When one person gets uncomfortable, the fun of the ride goes down hill fast, and no one is vary happy.

Thanks OP. And in this case it's not just mama. When we both are on there it is painful. lol I guess I posted my note I was looking for validation and sure enough you guys are chief enablers!
I agree the Bones is a cool machine, but....if you're going to tour or ride long distance a touring machine can't be beat, the RG will make you smile just as much as the Bones....enjoy.
And we all know, when the Wife is happy, the world is happy!

>>>Most definitely! and maybe I won't feel like I need to just lie on the floor in a fetal position after along trip! lol
