Trouble Years for Dynas to be aware of
The 06 is it's own animal but is not a bad bike once sorted. You get better gearing with the six speed (32/70) compared to the 96" bikes that have a 66 tooth rear pulley. As far as the other issues, inner primary bearing, rotor (charging system not brakes) and injectors. If you find bike with 20k or more miles these have likely been addressed.
My IPB failed at 15k and the rotor just a few thousand later because I was a dumb *** and didn't take care of it when I was in the primary. I now have 34k on it and it hasn't skipped a beat. I would use the known issues as a bargaining chip if you were to find one you like. Even if the IPB has been replaced, if they went with stock replacement beat them down on price for it, it will fail again unless they had the transmission case replaced along with the inner primary housing. If they did the Baker bearing you're good to go.
Pre 06 Dynas, as in 99-05. The 06 Dyna has the new tensioners where the rest of the models had the early design.

I found this article on the cam chain tensioner for 99-06 Dynas.
Podcast-In this episode we break down the issue of problems with pre 2006 Dyna’s & 1999-2006 spring loaded cam chain followers in Harley Davidson twin cam motors
Thanks...I have two I really like, an '05 and an '07, both Wide Glides with <12K miles on them. But some things happened and I won't be able to buy until spring, so I'll be looking at a whole host of new bikes by then.
