I have an 05 and it has ~19k on it, I wouldn't look to much into the frame being different. One problem with some 05s were bad cave seals, I had to replace one this winter, other than that I love my bike

The 06 is it's own animal but is not a bad bike once sorted. You get better gearing with the six speed (32/70) compared to the 96" bikes that have a 66 tooth rear pulley. As far as the other issues, inner primary bearing, rotor (charging system not brakes) and injectors. If you find bike with 20k or more miles these have likely been addressed.

My IPB failed at 15k and the rotor just a few thousand later because I was a dumb *** and didn't take care of it when I was in the primary. I now have 34k on it and it hasn't skipped a beat. I would use the known issues as a bargaining chip if you were to find one you like. Even if the IPB has been replaced, if they went with stock replacement beat them down on price for it, it will fail again unless they had the transmission case replaced along with the inner primary housing. If they did the Baker bearing you're good to go.

Pre 06 Dynas, as in 99-05. The 06 Dyna has the new tensioners where the rest of the models had the early design.

Yeah, the 2006 Dynas require some extra preventative care. I did not know that when I bought mine. I got it for a great price so I am not complaining.

Thanks...I have two I really like, an '05 and an '07, both Wide Glides with <12K miles on them. But some things happened and I won't be able to buy until spring, so I'll be looking at a whole host of new bikes by then.

Just upgraded to the SE hyd. tensioners.SE204 cams, new inner cam bearings. Runs great and plenty of power for me.

Inner tensioner

Outer tensioner 35k miles.

I've been very happy with my 08 Superglide. It has around 20k miles. I did have to replace a cracked motor mount a couple years ago. Otherwise it's been oil changes and tires at normal intervals.
