Absolutely agree! Hate a tourpak, but when the wife's aboard, it's the only way to fly. So, mine's on and off repeatedly. Here's a hint I will give yah. I use my jack to level the bike up for cleaning + toupak install/removal. When I install it, I set it backrest face down on the passenger seat then slide around the back of the bike + align the forward docking points. Makes it REAL easy to put on/off. Otherwise, stabbing the mounting slots down on the fender when yah can't see is a little intimidating.

The detachables are on and off frequently on my King. My winter config is with the upper and lower fairings. Full on touring includes the TP, otherwise it's naked.

Mine didn't come with a Tourpak so I'll call mine the attachable tourpak kit.

^^^THat.

Mine is only on when we do long rides. Bike feels better without it.

But yes, it is very handy when it's on.

Great idea! I was using the "stabbing" method. I am tall so it wasn't bad straddling the back fender, but this will make it much easier.

2007 there was no RGU . So added a Tour pak to The RG. detachable seemed like a good idea at the time. What I found was as time went on I never took it off . Also on the Detachable ones if you put any miles on the bushing do not last long.

I've used mine on and off for 25k miles. So far the bushings look like new. Just throwing that out there.

I'm with you, I don't have that many miles but the bushing is virtually undamaged. It fits very snug on mine, suppose if it was looser it would wear faster.

I'm having one put on my RGU. But I don't think I'm going to like the looks of that big fat seat at the rear once the TP comes off. So will probly be springing for a new seat as well.

Gawd! Does it ever end?

I put the Kuryakn Quick adjust bracket on mine and that was with the quick on and off.

Will adjust to what ever is comfortable for you and your's, but I prefer to leave it on.
I'm more about function than form I guess.
