Hose Clamps for Internal Tank Fuel Line?
#2
I just did this swap yesterday. I replaced the stock lines for 5/16 gates submersible fuel hose and stainless steel fuel line camps. It is straight forward install except the one that goes to the quick release has to be installed in the tank cause it won't fit threw the hole if it is installed first

Ever wonder why vehicle mfgs never use rubber hoses submersed in their fuel tanks?
I wouldn't opt for this cheap fix as certain chemicals can attack the OUTER rubber coating causing failure down the road.
Just pick up the proper in-tank hose(s) and Oetiker clamps that have hose protection while tightening and do the job correctly and you will not have to worry about the issue showing up again.

I do not want to put out the wrong information and someone ruins their bike because they used the wrong fuel hose. The fuel hose I used is gates submersible fuel hose part number 27093. This fuel hose is made to be used inside fuel tanks and is rated to 100 psi. It also requires the use of special hose clamps cause worm gear clamps have sharp edges and can cut the line. I have used this fuel line on several mustangs when adding multiple fuel pumps and it has never failed. The issue I have with the plastic fuel lines is it gets brittle over time and if it is ever disturbed it may crack.

stal94gt, thanks for the info and pictures. Where did you get the pump & filter? Where they separate or together? Yours has the neoprene sleeve around the entire pump where mine (Harley pump) is only on the backside where it mounts to the cradle.
I read about the Gates 27093 and the reviews were mixed, some way good to go submersed while others stay it deteriorates over time. I agree, the plastic fuel lines suck!

I got my new pump from quantum fuel systems (better known as high flow fuel). I have run their pumps in the past and they are great quality. They are direct plug and play and the full wrap around neoprene sleeve helps cut down on pump noise and it came from high flow that way. The fuel filter I bought off Jp cycles. As for the fuel line I have not heard any of them deteriorating and I personally have used this fuel hose in projects well over 10 years ago and it is still holding up fine. It is rated at sae 30R10 which means it is made specifically for being submerged in fuel.
