Default Fat Bob seat retaining thread

Hi

Trying to install a solo seat on a 17 fat bob. The problem I'm having is trying the remove the thread for the seat retaining nut. Looks like the thread is built into the housing under the rear guard. Does anyone know if there is a way to get it out so I can put the filler cap in the hole?

It would be much easier to pick up a seperate "nut" for the front hole. The rear one looked like it would be a pain to remove on my fat bob so I just bought a new nut. They are readily available

Simple, just pop that "C"-clip off the top of the nut and it drops out the bottom

The rear most hole doesn't allow you to drop out the threaded piece because it sits above the plastic inner fender.

I went with a fender bib and another nut.

I did the fender bib thing on mine as well. Got a cool alligator solo seat and bib made up by Ed at Sick Saddles. Took a while as he was in the middle of moving his shop, but he did a great job....
